Class Structure & Schedule
In an Islamic school, the class structure and schedule is designed to provide students with a well-rounded education that includes traditional subjects such as math, science, and literature, as well as religious studies and the study of the Quran. Typically, the school day starts with the recitation of the Quran and other religious studies classes such as Islamic history and culture, Islamic law and theology and Arabic language classes. These classes are usually taught by a qualified Islamic studies teacher. The traditional subjects such as math, science, and literature are also taught by qualified teachers, but with a focus on incorporating Islamic principles and values. Some Islamic schools have extended day or extended year to accommodate for the additional religious studies classes. This may mean that the school day starts earlier and ends later than a regular school schedule. Friday prayers are an important part of the Muslim faith and many Islamic schools close for Friday prayers. Special activities such as Quranic recitation, Islamic calligraphy and other Islamic arts may also be offered at the school. It’s important to note that the class structure and schedule may vary depending on the school. It is best to check with the school directly to get an accurate understanding of their class structure and schedule.
